(Unfinished) What we will discuss:
- Denominationalism introduces bibilical distractions in its pursuit of order and procedure.
- Membership becomes a process of recruiting instead of a process of discipleship
- Denominationalism stifles discipleship and hinders the big picture of the Kingdom of God.
- New members are ushered into a process which the first century church never required. Yet the first century converts had more commitment, more testimony of the power of grace and the Spirit.
- Denominationalism tends to impose extra-biblical standards that become bones of contention involving a total waste of time and resources instead of developing the congregants in grace, wisdom and spirit.
- Members leave anyway for any reason, so what is the real point of membership in terms of eternal values?
- The ONLY Biblical benefit of denominationalism is probably accountability, and yet there are better informal ways to accomplish this like the embarassment of non-conformity to well accepted norms in limited social groups
If you put denomination above the Kingdom of God, you are MOST certainly working for the WRONG kingdom!
