Deep Dive Discussions on Relationship vs. UNION
Modern day Christians promote RELATIONSHIP with God. It is interesting to note that none of the early post-Apostolic writers nor the New Testament writers use that term to describe how a creature should relate to the Creator.
Instead, the early Church writers used the word "UNION with Christ" or "UNITED with the body of Christ"
Are they the same? Or did we lose a lot of meaning for failing to exegete what UNION with Christ is all about. This discussion on Early Church belief will show us not only what is missing in our terminology today, but it's failure even hides the meaning of the rituals of Water Baptism and the Eucharist.
After going through these videos, see if your understanding changes for the following:
John 15:1-7 on The Vine and the Branches
Galatians 2:20
