CORRECTING THE POPULAR VIEW OF VERBAL INSPIRATION

Paul quoted either Psalm 13:1-3 of the LXX in Romans 3:11-18.

Psalm 14:1-3 of the Masoretic Text which both Roman Catholics and Protestants use today, does not even come close to the quote.

Paul's rendition were the exact GREEK words of the LXX but of course "All Scripture is God-breathed". So is the Masoretic Text which Protestants use today really God-breathed? or is it the LXX which the Eastern Orthodox church uses?

LXX:

New Testament: Scrivener version

CONCLUSION: The message is God-breathed. The "very words" are NOT God-spoken. The Masoretic Text and the LXX are BOTH TRANSLATIONS, the LXX from the Second Temple Hebrew manuscript and the Masoretic Text from a proto-Masoretic text which Jerome used for his Latin Vulgate. This proto-MT may have been a translation also from the Second Temple Hebrew.
