Enhance Your Knowledge of Scripture, Enhance Knowing God Personally

This is plain common sense!

If we want to be an engineer, we study and graduate from four to five years of engineering, going through our references 6 to 12 hours a day, before we can claim that we know enough to practice our profession.  We also take a licensure examination to validate our expertise as engineers. If God wills, we practice our profession for around 30 to 40 years without having to guess how to construct or maintain structures.

If we want to be an accountant, we study and graduate from four to five years of accounting, going through our references 6 to 12 hours a day,  before we can claim that we know enough to practice our profession. We also take a licensure examination to validate our expertise as accountants. If God wills, we practice our profession for around 30 to 40 years without having to guess what to do with numbers, debits and credits.

If we want to be a doctor, we study and graduate from four years of pre-med, another four to five years of medicine, take a licensure exam to claim to be an MD, take years of internship or fellowship and practice to be able to be confident that we can handle the lives of patients to the best that man can offer, with very little guessing as to what to do. If God wills, we practice our profession for around 20 to 30 years since most of our lifespan was spent studying.

All of us want to be sure that we have eternal life. But most of us would not take the time, even just 30 minutes a day, to study the only available course to get there, the Bible, even if we desire to "practice" eternal life for eternity. Sadly, because of this ignorance, we will end up only "guessing", at best if our eternity will be with Jesus or with "someone" else! Even more tragic, we might end up in the wrong place for eternity!

Here's something more practical. We all want power from on high. We all desire joy, peace. Many of us desire the gifts of the Spirit. Many seek the experience of being filled and controlled by the overwhelming miraculous power of the Holy Spirit. We want God to speak to us. We want to see our prayers being answered before our eyes. BUT, we just guess our way as to how to get this power, this joy, this peace, this experience instead of studying the only source that can show us how to get all of this - the Bible. We need to study! THE TUITION IS FREE!

We do not have a monopoly of Biblical interpretation or wisdom. This is why we may need to listen to other sources for our daily feeding. I recommend the following speakers and for the corresponding reasons:

3. Allen Jackson - One of Pastor Tiffany's favorite preachers with unique insights into the Word. Along with Don Moen, one of the more famous graduates of Oral Roberts University. His website is  https://allenjackson.com/

5. Smith Wigglesworth - A plumber, not a pastor! One of the first and greatest pentecostal preachers when there was yet no pentecostal denomination. Rightly called, "The Apostle of Faith", he has the gift of faith that would match or even surpass the documented accounts of the first century church and apostles. His ministry of healing was so phenomenal with at least 16 to as much as 23 dead people, including his wife, brought back to life through prayer and his very intimate walk with God and sensitivity to the voice and leading of the Holy Spirit.  His books are available at Amazon.com.
